Biologically speaking, tissue and organs continue to grow until the age of 17/18 for girls and 20/21 for boys. However, younger children can be treated with corrective surgery for problems like prominent ears to avoid the psychological problems that this condition might cause. The nose instead, if thought to be out of proportion with the rest of the face, can be treated with surgery when patients are 17-18 years old for girls and 20-21 years old for boys. Liposuction in adolescents and young people should be approached with special care.
In the case of endocrine exophthalmos or ptosis in younger patients, as soon as the patient is aged 18 years it is possible to correct the swelling on the lower eyelid with a simple procedure that leaves no scarring.
